What is an InfoVan?
An InfoVan is essentially a traveling Information
and Assistance center. It is designed to provide seniors and adults with
disabilities with information on services that will allow them to live
independently.
There are 36 InfoVans operating in 41 counties throughout California.
What is the InfoVan’s purpose?
The purpose of the InfoVan is to provide information about services and
programs to seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers at
locations throughout the community and in languages that are appropriate.
The InfoVans carry an array of useful information and educational
tools.
InfoVans were made possible through the Community Outreach for Independent Living
(COIL), a project funded by a Long-Term Care Innovation Grant, administered
by the California Department of Aging. The purpose of COIL was to help
California’s diverse aging population and those with disabilities
to live independently as long as possible.
Who operates the InfoVan?
InfoVans are being operated throughout many communities by the local Area Agency
on Aging. |
